My artwork has a multiplicity of style, so it is not surprising that my paintings can be very different from one another. I paint whatever pops into my head in no particular order; for this reason, it is somewhat difficult to classify the images. However, I have endeavored to catagorize what am able to, and for the sake of this website they are listed below.

Someone once said that the difference between art and pornography is soft lighting. My challenge as an artist is to paint something explicit yet beautiful. Conventionally nudity is either beautifully vague, or integrity eroding. Sex is something that unites all cultures; as an expression of love it demands to be celebrated in paint. I am creating a series of pansexual paintings to help everyone understand the inherent aesthetic quality of love. A compliment would be to have your most ravenous “ist” or “phobe” look at my work and wonder how anything so honest could possibly be offensive.

Art too often takes itself very seriously. My pop-surrealism is work I create for collective amusement. I find hilarious the notion that Barbie could have literal skeletons in her closet. The idea that the Queen uses the porcelain throne like everyone else is humbling. My humorous spin on the low sex drive of a dope fiend can be found on my medicine chest. I enjoy turning popular icons on their ear. I guess you'll have to wait and see what I do to Mr. Clean, among others...

I believe like the Austrailian aboriginees that it is not possible to separate art from the spiritual. Art is an act of creation; it exists in spirit before it is ever realized. I am possessed when I paint; and taken on a journey with borrowed hands. I want people to experience those places I go that could not exist in our reality. Water made of birds, suns at night, landanimals, and people made of fire are some of the visions I have been privy to. I don't think it is coincidence that the First Nations culture has stories of when Transformer changed people or animals into mountain ranges. Our thoughts are made of energy and are therefore infinite and immortal; these places and things exist, or where would the ideas come from?

My experimental pieces are more intellectual; an attempt to break unwritten art rules, or the products of whimsy and curiosity. It is ironic that my playful approach in these works often lead to significant changes in style, or are the foundation for my best work. I liken this process to the pure joy children experience when they do not sensor themselves artistically; children continue to produce pure art until someone (usually an adult) tells them it's wrong.
