Picasso said, “There are two kinds of women – goddesses and doormats.” “Love” was inspired by the man in my life who taught me how to love myself. I saw myself for the first time through his eyes, and realized my own worth. There is a lot of personal symbolism in the painting: the fires of passion, the painful emotional baggage I lay at his feet, the evolution of my soul as represented by the moth, and the waves of love that have washed over me transforming me into the goddess now know myself to be.
